The Rebirth of Australian Icon Humphrey B. Bear
Highlights
NEW YORK: NEW YORK Marbanc International Corporation is pleased to announce that the legendary Australian icon, Humphrey B. Bear, was featured on Channel 9’s Today Extra last month. Humphrey first aired on the network in 1965, and the hosts were keen to know he’s back bigger and better than ever on YouTube.
The beloved children's entertainment character, which has been a household name for nearly six decades is being rebirthed online and via other media with the support of Marbanc's Australian subsidiary and Humphrey B. Bear Entertainment (HBBE) shareholder, Income Direct.
Income Direct's Executive Chairman, Gerard Sivaprasad, was in Brisbane earlier this week to meet with Humphrey’s guardians and HBBE co-founders, Kris Maric and Craig Kocinski to discuss the company's recent developments.
"Humphrey B. Bear is an incredibly powerful brand with considerable growth potential. I am pleased with the progress the Humphrey team has made in expanding the brand’s international audience. Income Direct is delighted to be backing the rebirth of this Australian icon." said Mr Sivaprasad.
Since June, HBBE has published three new videos weekly featuring Humphrey B. Bear to cater to the US$1 trillion-plus children's and family entertainment market, and Humphrey’s live shows have continued to break attendance records across Australia.
HBBE recently secured investment from Prashant Shah who has joined the company's advisory team. Mr Shah recently helped one of his business interests multiply their $180 million dollar company to achieve a $1.8 billion exit within three years and sees similar potential to develop the Humphrey B. Bear globally.
In November 2023 Income Direct made a strategic investment in the company to facilitate the digitization of its 3,000+ episode & song back-catalogue.
