Chirpy Plus Shortlisted for 2025 Telstra Business Awards

Highlights
Australia's largest over 50's community, Chirpy Plus, has been shortlisted out of more than 20,000 Australian companies for the 2025 Telstra Business Awards for the second year in a row. The business which has more than 4,000 active members across Australia and New Zealand has been drafted for the Empowering Women and Championing Health categories.
Marbanc International made a strategic investment in Chirpy Plus in early 2024. The company holds over 600 monthly meet-ups which are renowned for building friendships, relationships and help address one of the biggest challenges facing the over 50's demographic - loneliness.
According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare:
“Loneliness has been linked to premature death, poor physical and mental health (Holt-Lunstad et al. 2015), greater psychological distress (Manera et al. 2022) and general dissatisfaction with life (Schumaker et al. 1993). Loneliness among Australians was already a concerning issue before the COVID-19 pandemic, to the extent that in 2022 it has been described as one of the most pressing public health priorities in Australia (Ending Loneliness Together 2022)”
Marbanc International is presently working with its legal advisors to enable Chirpy Plus to expand its operations into the United States. The US market has over 120 million adults over 50, providing Chirpy Plus a significant opportunity to rollout its community-based membership model to a large population.
Chirpy Plus was the recipient of the 2024 Telstra Best of Business Award in Innovation.
